The mission of the OIFF’s Lions Club is to empower youth and adults to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace, and promote international understanding.  The target audience is primarily at-risk youth and millennials.  Most of the activities are expressed through the OIFF Arts and Film Lions Club Boot Camp.

Orlando International Film Festival ® (OIFF™) Overview of the OIFF™ Arts and Film LIONS CLUB Boot Camp

​

The OIFF™ Art and Film Boot Camp was initiated January 4, 2020 in Orlando, Florida. The Orlando International Film Festival (OIFF™) Arts and Film Boot Camp teaches, guides and mentors two disadvantaged groups: (1) youth ages 3 – 17 and (2) millennials ages 18 – 39 in the areas of the visual arts, performing arts, composition skills, life skills and film production in a supportive environment with the assistance of the University of Central Florida, Full Sail University and Bethune-Cookman University interns.

The OIFF™ Arts and Film LIONS CLUB Boot Camp Includes the Following Activities

​

  • Producing a documentary film of a subject chosen by the children that will be used as a model for research, script writing, story boarding, casting, camera work, editing and post editing of a short film.

​

  • Drawing images of their vision of "World Peace" on a canvas. Off-site participants will submit their work via a website www.OIFFdrawings.com. All foreign youth will submit their drawings of "World Peace" using the OIFFWorldPeaceArt APP)

​

  • Writing an essay of their vision of "World Peace." Off-site participants will submit essays via website: www.OIFFessays.com

​

  • Assisting with the choreography and production of a dance with various forms of dance

​

  • Singing and instrument playing that to accompany the films produced in the OIFF™ Arts and Film Lions Club Boot Camp

​

  • Participating in the Life Skills component that teaches etiquette and financial literacy. In their financial literary classes, the children learn budgeting and money management.
